O Cebreiro is a historical and cultural site. It was one of the first places with hospital asisting pilgrims in the ninth century. It conservers examples of traditional pallozas, charistic buildings of this area. The pre-romanesque church of Santa Maria is the oldest monument on the Jacobean route to Santiago.
